PURCHASING OFFICER

Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturing organisation in the electromechanical/sheet metal sector, has around 80 staff, and produces a high quality, diverse and specialised range of products for a select client base.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the appointee will be responsible for the total materials management of the business which will include ensuring the purchasing function is run in an efficient and effective manner and adds value to the business. Activities will include the management of top tier suppliers, stock and the store, and sourcing of new products and suppliers.
Key attributes sought include:
• Prior purchasing management experience in a manufacturing environment desired • Well developed negotiation and commercial skills • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills • A team player with a proactive and innovative approach • Results focused with strong problem solving abilities • Organised and structured with a hands-on approach.
