Production Enhancement and Quality Assurance Manager

Our client has undergone significant growth securing a broad range of long term contracts in recession resilient segments of the market. With around 80 staff they produce a high quality, diverse and specialised range of products for a select client base. They provide solutions for clients that are predominantly based around electromechanical/sheet metal design and manufacture.
Reporting to the General Manager this is a new hands on position which is being put in place to champion ongoing and sustainable improvements in productivity. The appointee will be responsible for developing and implementing productivity enhancement initiatives which will involve working closely with production line staff on a day to day basis to ensure they are adequately trained and using appropriate production and QA procedures.
Key attributes sought include:
§ Prior experience in the areas of production enhancement and quality assurance
§ Recent production enhancement experience with a track record of achievement
§ Prior people management experience with well developed team leadership skills
§ Hands on engineering skills and approach with tool and jig design capabilities and a solid understanding of production engineering
§ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
§ Results focus and proactive with initiative
§ Organised and structured
